Hello
Iβm Ben, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist in north-east London
I want to help you create the change youβd like to see in your life
You might be going through a difficult experience right now, or want to explore more deeply your personal history, habits and behaviours. Perhaps you need support with taking that next big step in your life. My intention for our therapy is for you to feel more in control of your life and better equipped to manage it.
Weβll be taking a holistic view of your life
With me youβll experience a space where you can be just you. A space in which weβll bring more self-awareness to whatβs holding you back, delving into your stories and experiences, peeling back long held limiting beliefs. We might focus on cultivating positive emotions, building new habits, or processing trauma. Iβm an integrative therapist which means weβll tailor the therapy to best support your unique needs.

In-person and online
I offer appointments from my practice in De Beauvoir, situated between Islington, Canonbury and Hackney.
And a video call option for clients who are situated further away, including internationally, or for those who prefer their therapy online for convenience.
My therapy room in Hackney in which weβll be working together.
Is therapy for me?
Counselling & psychotherapy is a unique experience
People seek out help for many reasons. There are no rules for what you should and should not attend therapy for. It may be a feeling or experience you can describe and label, like anxiety and depression. A specific traumatic experience, something extremely painful, mental or physical. Or perhaps just a sense something isn't right, with its origins in the subtle moments experienced with an unaware caregiver when young. If you feel you need help therapy could be for you.
Some of the issues Iβve helped my clients with
Overcoming fear and anxiety, including generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), health anxiety and panic attacks
Managing obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
Building self-worth or confidence
Exploring the sense of unfulfillment and finding meaning
Managing relationship difficulties and communication
Regulating the nervous system when feeling chaotic, overwhelmed, out of control
Moving through feeling confused, indecisive, stuck, procrastination
Working through feelings of shame, guilt and anger
Healing after the end of a relationship, separation and divorce
Support with LGBTQ+ experiences (exploring past and present)

Mental health meditations and talks
I create content for Insight Timer. With over 10 million meditators, and the largest library of free guided meditations on earth, itβs the #1 app for meditation and sleep.
You can follow my teacher profile on the app, or alternatively I upload each audio recording to my Sound Cloud page too.
Find me on Instagram
Itβs not easy to get a sense of what a therapist is like from a few words and photos on a website. It might be helpful to check out my Instagram page to get more of a flavour for who I am, my areas of knowledge and how I communicate. Youβll also find useful content about mental health, therapy, and handy psychology tips and tools.
I write stuff too
When I want to go deeper on a topic, youβll find me writing about anything from breathing techniques, relationships and dating, to self-discovery, sex, and the interplay between tech and mental health.
The breathing technique
to help you through life's challenges
From ghosting to caspering:
the psychology of why it matters
Pause : breathe : get curious
Before you leave, take a moment to catch your breath. The 4-7-8 breath is a form of PrΔαΉΔyΔma (intentional) breathing. It involves breathing in for a count of 4, holding for 7, and breathing out for 8.
Like a lot of breathing techniques, itβs essentially a self-regulation tool. Helping bring a state of calm, via your nervous system, and shifting your attention from the swirls in your mind to the sensations of your body.
